The Pick: Boston -156, bet $23.40 to win $15
The resurgence of COVID cases, quarantines, protocols, etc., has thrown everything into chaos. Obviously, my gambling is not the most important thing, here. But with me trying to build back slowly, the plays I’m making until things cool down will be even more conservative. That means limited plays and taking moneylines when they’re not too expensive. We’re trying to come through this stretch unscathed. In that vein, I’m taking a Boston team who simply seems a little less depleted than Philadelphia. The injury reports for both teams (and for every team in the NBA) are, uh, extensive. The Celtics are 12-5 as favorites this season. They’re also at home tonight, where they’re 8-2 in the last 10 games and 8-5 overall this year. The price is reasonable, and I think the Sixers are relying too much on Joel Embiid to be good long-term.
