Here are a handful of statistical tidbits to help get you through your day:

>>> Penn on Saturday completed the 34th full City Series sweep (4-0) in Big 5 history. Only six of the previous 33 sweepers failed to reach the NCAA Tournament:
1955-56 Saint Joseph’s
1966-67 Villanova
1968-69 La Salle (ineligible)
1979-80 Saint Joseph’s
2000-01 Villanova
2003-04 Saint Joseph’s

>>> By the way, the Quakers are now 6-1 all-time when they take a 3-0 City Series record into their Big 5 finale. The other schools’ records in such instances:
La Salle 3-3
Saint Joseph’s 8-5
Temple 4-6
Villanova 13-5

>>> Since 2004, Claude Giroux (six times) and Kimmo Timonen (twice) are the only Flyers to make multiple mid-season All-Star appearances.

>>> Congratulations to the Houston Rockets, who did something Sunday night they hadn’t done since Jan. 13: One of them actually had an assist on a field goal by teammate James Harden.

When Kenneth Faried dished a dime on Harden’s third field goal of the game against the Magic, it snapped a streak of 87 consecutive assist-less baskets by the NBA’s latest unstoppable force. That streak lasted a little over 240 minutes of playing time by Harden -- over six full games and parts of two others.

For good measure, Faried assisted on two more Harden FGs in the fourth quarter.
