The Last Tango on Friday: NBA

Bob Vetrone

We thought we were doing good on our New Year’s Resolutions (well, except for the exercising . . . and the eating right . . . and the donating of copious amounts of money to charity . . . ), but then we saw what Stephen Curry has done in eight games dating back to Dec. 31:

- Leading the Warriors to a 7-1 record;
- Averaging 34.1 points per game;
- Shooting 48.3 percent from the arc (56-for-116);
- Missing one whole foul shot (33-for-34, a percentage of 97.1, which sounds more like an FM oldies station than a free-throw percentage).

Not enough? How about in the four road games in that stretch, he is 34-for-61 on three-pointers, a percentage we can’t even figure because the 33-for-34 thing broke the calculator on our phone. (Okay, it’s 55.7%; we did it by hand.)

He’s so hot, we are going to skip right over the regular game line (-7) and try to make some extra NFL spending money on an Alternate Spread.

Pick: Warriors -9.5 (+135)
