Happy Saturday, sports betting amigos! The weekend is finally here, and I'm off playing blackjack with my wife and daughter somewhere in an undisclosed location. Don't worry, though, I didn't forget to fire off some MLB player props to hold us over until Monday.
Check out our three strikeout props for June 21st below. Best of luck with all your weekend MLB action. Let's reel in some winners, everybody!
Note: I'm writing these up on Friday afternoon, and the lines have NOT been released yet. I'm guessing at what the lines will be based on past history. If any of these plays are over -150 juice, I wouldn't advise playing them. Also, make sure you can get the 5.5 line on each of these. If not, just pass!
DET at TB- 12:10 PM EDT
Ryan Pepiot is rounding back into form after a kind of slow start to 2025, at least strikeout-wise. The young Rays fireballer has been on a massive roll lately, and I think it continues against this free-swinging Tigers lineup.
Over his last three starts, Pepiot has fanned 11, 9, and 8 hitters, respectively. The Tigers are putting the ball in play a little better lately, but they're still striking out quite often.
Detroit has the 5th-highest K-rate against righties this season, and Pepiot has a career strikeout rate of 26% against this team. Getting 6 Ks here shouldn't be a problem.
BAL at NYY - 1:05 PM EDT
Schmidt let us down last week against the Angels, but I don't mind giving him a shot a redemption on Saturday. We've made a nice bundle of cold, hard cash fading this Orioles lineup in the strikeout department, and there's really no reason to stop now.
Baltimore has the 4th-highest strikeout rate in MLB against righties, and they have yet to see Schmidt this season. Six Orioles hitters have K-rates above 23%, so I could see Schmidt putting his curveball and slider to good use in this one. Give me another Over!
CIN at STL - 2:15 PM EDT
This is my favorite play on the Saturday board, and with good reason. Sonny Gray is a seasoned veteran who almost always gets six solid innings of work.
The former Vandy star doesn't throw that hard anymore, but his breaking stuff is still flat-out nasty. Gray draws a nice matchup against the Reds this weekend at home. Cincy has the 7th-highest K-rate in baseball against righties.
Five Reds hitters have K-rates above 23%, and Gray has a lifetime strikeout rate of 29.7% against this squad. Let's cash yet another Over to wrap up the weekend.
