Mike Noblin

Happy Monday, fellow sports betting compadres! We hope you found some winners on your weekend MLB cards. Our Saturday play went down in flames, as the Reds knocked Tigers starter Jack Flaherty out of the game early. The big righty has amazing stuff, but he's had a roller coaster of a season so far for Detroit.

Though the weekend result was disappointing, we still went 7-5 last week for a 9% ROI. We need to keep stacking weeks like that together to get where we want to be before the All-Star Break. Let's get the new week started off on the right foot with our top player props parlay for Monday, June 16. Best of luck, my friends.

Parlay: Clarke Schmidt 5+ Ks / Ryan Pepiot 5+ Ks (-128) (DraftKings)

LAA at NYY - 7:05 PM EDT and BAL at TB - 7:35 PM EDT

Clarke Schmidt continues to be a pleasant surprise for the New York Yankees, as he's done a remarkable job of picking up the slack for a starting rotation that was decimated by injuries to Luis Gil and Gerrit Cole. Opposing hitters have an expected batting average of just .210 against Schmidt, so his stuff is clearly working so far in 2025.

I was more than a bit impressed by Schmidt's outing last week against Kansas City. The Royals don't strike out very often, but Schmidt fanned 7 hitters through 6 solid innings of work. I could see a similar result against an Angels squad that has had trouble making consistent contact all year long up to this point.

The main worry with Schmidt today is that he just faced the Halos back on May 28th and was only able to muster 4 Ks. That being said, I think that was more of an anomaly. I'll gladly put him in our K parlay at 5.

Ryan Pepiot's K-rate has been steadily climbing after a slow start to the season. The big righty has a median K number of just 5 in 2025, but he draws a fantastic matchup against Baltimore. The O's have the 4th-highest strikeout rate in baseball against right-handed pitchers.

Though Pepiot's strikeout numbers are a bit down over last season, his chase rate has actually gone up substantially, from 48th percentile to 69th percentile. That tells me that Pepiot has done a much better job of implementing his slider this season. I feel pretty good about Tampa Bay's young hurler getting us at least 5 Ks.
