Mother's Day MLB Strikeout Prop Bets: Krothers picks Joe Ross, Adam Wainwright, Huascar Ynoa

Batman Krothers

Happy Mother’s Day to everyone who is or has a mother. Maybe don’t tell your mother you’re sneaking out to place a few bets unless you are using your winnings to buy them something nice.

Nationals @ Yankees, 1:05 pm ET

Joe Ross, with the exception of one outing, has been pretty good this year. The Yankees, as all of us know, are prone to strike out way too often. That said, Ross is not a big strikeout pitcher. His max this season has been 5 – so why has FanDuel put the over/under at 5.5? I don’t know – sounds like a trap – but I’ll take the Over at -174.

Rockies @ Cardinals, 2:15 pm ET

Adam Wainwright has had a tough year to date, but at least he’s eating innings. It’s hard to find any SP in MLB this year who has gone 9, but Wainwright is one of them. Given he’s been doing a little over a K/inning in this inflated year and his propensity to go longer than most, I’m going to take the over 5.5 and +100 the folks at BetMGM have at their book.

Phillies @ Braves, 7:00 pm ET

I’m tempted to take Aaron Nola seeing as how he probably doesn’t have to face the best hitter in baseball today - Ronald Acuña Jr. – but with the over/under set at 6.5 I’m kinda ‘meh’ on it. Instead, I’ll take his doppelganger Huascar Ynoa since most books have his line set at 4.5, which I think is too low. Given his stuff and past outings I think 5+ Ks is a lock, so I’m taking the over and -113 from my friends at DraftKings.

Come back again — same bat-channel — Batman out!
