Tuesday MLB Best Bets from Eckel: HR picks, Padres vs Rangers, Indians vs Pirates, Rays vs Yankees, and Reds vs Royals

Baltimore’s loss to Toronto cost us a perfect Monday. Still it was’t bad.

Atlanta walked off against Washington; the Mets covered the over by themselves against Miami and Pete Alonso hit not one, but two home runs (do I get paid double?).

That was Monday. Now it’s time for Tuesday’s picks.

San Diego Padres at Texas Rangers, 4:05 p.m.

Pitchers: Adrian Morejon vs. Mike Minor

Over/Under: 8 1/2 runs

Cleveland Indians at Pittsburgh Pirates, 7:05 p.m.

Pitchers: Carlos Carrasco vs. J.T. Brubaker

Odds: Indians -190; Pirates +170

Tampa Bay Rays at New York Yankees, 7:05 p.m.

Pitchers: Blake Snell vs. Masahiro Tanaka

Odds: Rays -115; Yanks -105

Cincinnati Reds at Kansas City Royals, 8:05 p.m.

Pitchers: Luis Castillo vs. Brad Keller

Odds: Reds -155; Royals +140

THE CYCLE

Single: In the afternoon game in Texas look for some runs on the board. Minor has struggled all season for the Rangers and the Padres are starting a rookie in his debut. Take the over 8 1/2 runs.

Double: The game of the night is in the Bronx. The Yanks have won six straight, despite their yearly wrath of injuries, while the Rays have won nine of 11. Snell has pitched well this season, but is 1-5 in his career at The Stadium. Tanaka is 10-4 with a 3.07 ERA lifetime vs. the Rays. Take the Yanks at home.

Triple: I hate to bet a -190, especially a -190 on the road but Cleveland and Carrasco should handle the Pirates. Parlay it with the Royals +140 over the Reds, who have been off site Friday and will be without at least one, if not more, starters.

Home Run: Gary Sanchez has take Snell deep four times, let’s shoot for five. And just for the heck of it, let’s go with Fernando Tatis Jr.
