Saturday’s Race Recap from Belmont Park and Monmouth:

(All odds US)

Belmont Park:

Race 1: 6th@ 4.00/1

Race 7: SCRATCH

Race 10: SCRATCH

In Race 1, the debuting Inspector Poirot walked out of the starting gate and was virtually eased by the end of the race. We scratched from races 7 & 10 and I wish we had scratched from Race 1 too after that start.

Saturday’s Race Recap from Monmouth:

(All odds US)

Monmouth Park

Race 7: 3rd@ 4.20/1

Race 10: 1st@ 2.90/1 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Race 12: 5th@ 24.80/1

In Race 7 at Monmouth, Fayette Spirit angled out and rallied between horses late but finished third. In Race 10, heavily favored Kingsbarns wasn’t on his game getting pressed on the lead and Salute the Stars got a HORRIBLE trip early but got the trip we were hoping for late as he powered past in the final sixteenth for a win. In Race 12, Bourbonic, who usually closes from off the pace was put closer to the pace than expected while getting a 4-wide trip. He was still in the race until mid-stretch when he officially flattened out to finish fifth.

Let’s close out the week with another day of racing at Belmont. Fast and firm conditions on the menu. Let’s get started!

Belmont Park:

Race 9: Alpha Sonny - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 20/1)

Maiden claimers bred in New York sprint six furlongs on dirt. The runners in this field who have raced before haven’t inspired much confidence. Alpha Sonny debuts for a low-profile barn who can connect with a big price every now and again. This one has a few sharp five furlong works but the piece I really like is that this guy’s a half to three debut winners: Desert Valentine - (64 speed figure at 8/1), Sun Storm - (76 speed figure at 47/1) and Brass Note - (38 speed figure at 45/1). All three won their debuts on this circuit and two of those three debut speed figures would be enough to handle these. Bombs away to end the week!

Best of luck to all our members playing Sunday’s races from Belmont!
