Good morning racing fans. We are back for another week of exciting U.S. racing action! We’ll start the week at Churchill Downs. We’re expecting a fast main track beneath sunny skies. Let’s get started on our final three days of September racing! We’re FIRING with longshots these final three days so we can make up for all the second and third place finishes we had this month!! Let’s ROLL!!!
Churchill Downs:
Race 7: Jackie’s Spirit - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 20/1)
Maiden claimers sprint 6 furlongs here but this $150k type of maiden claimer might as well be a maiden special weight type race as the quality of runner is much better than most of the maiden claiming races we see. We’ve got a few favorites in here that I don’t trust. Bonanza Grade breaks from the rail and should be the controlling speed but she packed up her tent awfully early last time out and has to negotiate an additional 1/2 furlong. Jackie’s Spirit is a 20/1 outsider here from the low-profile barn of Carlo Vaccarezza and she’s got plenty of workouts under her belt. What I like most about her value is this: Vaccarezza has started two two-year-old filly debut runners in dirt sprints here at Churchill Downs. One finished second at 47/1 with a 65 speed figure. The other one won at 45/1 with an 84 speed figure. You never know what you’re gonna get from a debut runner before they hit the track but the price here will be huge and the stats speak for themselves.
Best of luck to everyone playing Wednesday’s races from Churchill Downs!
