We’re headed back to Saratoga to close the month of July and open the month of August. While we had some rain on Monday, we’ve got sunny, warm temperatures expected for Wednesday so I’m handicapping for fast and firm conditions. Let’s get started!

Wednesday at Saratoga:

Race 9: High Opinion - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 7/5)

Allowance optional claimers race a mile on turf here and High Opinion really seems to have this field over a barrel from a class standpoint. She’s placed in graded stakes on turf multiple times now and nobody else in this field has that on their resumé. Nor do they have anything close to her top lifetime speed figure. High Opinion’s career best effort was actually run right on this surface in last year’s Grade 2 Ballston Spa where she lost by a nose to the Chad Brown trained, Viadera. She faces no such competition today and this race should be hers for the taking.

Best of luck to everyone playing Wednesday’s races from Saratoga!
