Keeneland:

Race 7: 4th@ 5.00/1

Race 8: 2nd@ 17.30/1

Race 9: 9th@ 8.10/1

Race 10: 1st@ 1.00/1 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Race 11: 4th@ 1.40/1

Our Saturday began with Candy Tycoon off the cut-back to a sprint. He was a little closer to the early pace than I would’ve preferred and was tired when he needed to have that punch in the lane. Finished 4th beaten 2 lengths for all the money. In Race 8, our longshot of the day, Star Devine, was given a perfect ride by Johnny Velazquez and finished a strong second behind Campanele at long odds. A bit frustrating when you beat 11 other runners and can’t get the win at long odds. In the Lexington, Call Me Midnight ranged up on the turn but with a slow pace ahead of him he had nothing to close into and flattened out badly fading to 9th. In the Grade 1 Jenny Wiley it was Regal Glory, getting us on the board with a win. 3/2 during most of the wagering she went off at 1/1 as the gates opened. She stalked the pace and held off her stablemate without much effort given. In Race 11, Highly Motivated needed a little more motivation as he fell back to next to last and stayed there til it was too late. He rallied for fourth and looks like he needed that start.

A win and a 17/1 second place finish. That was our chance at glory today but it wasn’t meant to be. When the handicapping is sound the money comes. Sometimes it takes time but it’s inevitable.

We’ll head to Gulfstream for their Easter Sunday card. We’re expecting a fast main track and a firm turf course beneath sunny skies. Let’s get to it.

Easter Sunday at Gulfstream Park:

Race 7: Evelyn - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 10/1)

Maiden optional claimers race here in this race for Florida bred runners. There’s not a ton of early speed signed on but that’s something our selection has going in her favor. She should be able to sit the trip right off the speed of Shawnee Princess to her inside. The thing that’s interesting about Evelyn, aside from her likely price is the fact that she adds blinkers today for the first time in her career and she’s been putting up really really fast workouts with those new blinkers added.

Best of luck to everyone playing Sunday’s races from Gulfstream Park! Happy Easter !
