Spring is in the air and we’ve got the Louisiana Derby and Dubai World Cup to look forward to this weekend. In the meantime, we’re back for exciting racing action from Gulfstream Park. We’re expecting fast and firm conditions. Let’s get to work.

Wednesday at Gulfstream Park:

Race 8: Princess Tereska - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 20/1)

Maiden claimers race 7 1/2 furlongs on turf and with no world-beaters signed on, I’m taking a shot with Princess Tereska who’s likely to be even higher than her 20/1 morning line. Trainer Juan Reviriego is winning at 16% for the year but is riding an 0 for 11 streak here at Gulfstream so far this meet so that’s liable to keep some bettors away but he’s won with 4 of 9 runners racing in maiden claiming races. Looking at his maiden claiming turf runners, trainer Reviriego has one close second place finish at 18.60/1 and another who won at odds of 9.10/1. Both were ridden by today’s low-profile rider in C. Lugo (who is so low profile, I don’t even know his first name). Upset potential!

Best of luck to everyone playing Wednesday’s races from Gulfstream Park!!
