Fair Grounds:
Race 6: 2nd@ 1.20/1
Race 8: 3rd@ 7.40/1
Race 9: 4th@ 10.40/1
In Race 6, after being rained off the turf we were put onto the main track. Hohohoho was taken to a clear early lead opening up by more than five lengths on the backstretch. Coinmaker was the only runner with a chance to catch him and that’s what he did, reeling him in at the sixteenth pole leaving Hohohoho in second place. In Race 8 - also taken off turf - Guest Speaker was returning from a layoff for his second career start and he stalked the early pace and closed nicely for third. In Race 9, Pledgeofallegiance was taken off the pace and stuck behind a wall of horses turning for home. Never found a ton of room but closed for fourth.
A second, third and a fourth from three selections as our “knocking-on-the-door” month of March continues….

Thursday Fair Grounds:
Race 5: Miss Underrated - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 10/1)
Allowance runners sprint 6 furlongs here and with a hot pace expected we’re going with Miss Underrated to pick up the pieces. Trainer Juan Larrosa has won with 3 of 4 starters so far at the meet and not only does this runner have a win over the surface on her resume but she has the best overall record at the distance, winning three of 9 starts with four second place finishes. She ships in from Delta Downs where she’s been running shorter races and should benefit from the extra furlong as well as the hot pace today.
