Wednesday 12.22 Gulfstream Picks: God's Tipster starts off Christmas week with the 5th, 6th, and 7th races

The weather should be perfect at the south Florida track.

God's Tipster

We are BACK for some Christmas week racing action from Gulfstream Park. We’re expecting fast and firm conditions and there are a plethora of polytrack races carded for Wednesday.

Let’s get ready to jingle those bells and rake in some cash.

Wednesday picks for Gulfstream Park:

Race 5: Star Sign - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 12/1)

Sprinters square off here at 6 furlongs and we’ve got a few speed runners signed on that should be able to press Inter Miami for the early lead. The closers in the race haven’t had much punch recently but Star Sign is an interesting proposition at potentially long odds. He had been racing longer races at Parx but shortened up when facing much tougher last time out. That day he was able to sit just off the speed but wasn’t able to capitalize in the stretch. With the class drop, I think this one gets the trip off the speeds and can hold off the closers with the right trip.

Readers of Bettors Insider are getting a bonus preview of my day’s selections ONLY through Dec. 31, 2021. To sign up for daily emails with the day’s FULL selections and weekly Saturday videos, click here.

Race 6: Trevess - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 9/2)

Fillies and mares sprint 5 1/2 furlongs over the synthetic tapeta surface, a surface our selection is 1 for 1 over after her 11.50/1 score three starts ago. Three of her six lifetime wins have come at this distance as well. Most recently she faced much better in the Claiming Crown Glass Slipper where she ran well despite being outclassed and the distance being beyond her scope. I look for an improvement with the change in surfaces back to synthetic.

Race 7: Katz a Dream - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 4/1)

More action on the synthetic as Starter Allowance runners square off. Flying Black is likely to attract a lot of attention off her flashy debut on polytrack in November which produced the field’s top speed figure however while trainer Luis Miranda wins with 24% of his runners first off the claim, he’s only 1 for 19 (5%) with runners second time off the claim. Katz a Dream has had two starts over this surface. A win over a next out winner and last time just she finished second behind a next out winner. Trainer Ralph Nicks has had a nice start to the Gulfstream meet winning 3 of 9 races and this runner offers value at 4/1 or higher.

Best of luck to everyone playing Wednesday’s races from Gulfstream Park!
