We started the day with another BEST BET win as Sosua coasted in her debut winning off by 11. In Race 3, our first time turf runner R Tenderoni never got on track and in Race 4, our 8-1 longshot pick - (who was 13-1 as they loaded into the gates) looked to take them coast to coast like butter on toast but got leg weary in the final 1/16th of a mile finishing 4th but only losing by 1/2 length.
A happy April Fool’s Day to our members. Here’s to hoping you’re the pranksters today and not the “prankees”. I’m not sure if that’s a word. We’re back to Gulfstream Park for Thursday’s racing action. We are expecting some rain at Gulfstream so I’ve made my selections with that in mind.
Thursday Picks
Gulfstream Park:
Race 2: Sososubtle - 2 pts win - BEST BET (ML Odds: 5/2)
We kick off the day with Florida-bred allowance runners going a mile on the main track and eagle-eyed members of the US Racing Expert team may remember that Sososubtle was our pick to upset the Apple cart on Fountain of Youth day based on a better-than-it-looked maiden win. Sososubtle actually didn’t run a bad race in the Fountain of Youth and at one point on the turn, I thought he might have a shot to pull off the 77-1 shocker but it wasn’t meant to be that day and he drops back in class to face runners at a more reasonable level. I’ve been impressed with both his maiden win and yes, even his up-the-track finish in the Fountain of Youth. Trainer Armando De La Cerda wins with 19% of runners coming off layoffs like these at average odds close to 5-1. Beat up on Joshy Jak in that maiden win and that one came back to win. Also adds Lasix back which was an ingredient that was present in his maiden score.

Race 3: Farm Strong - 1 pt win (ML Odds: 15-1)
If this race is run on turf as it’s intended to be run, Farm Strong owns very competitive speed figures, running his top turf number in his most recent start where he missed by a diminishing head margin. VERY low profile connections will ensure a square price. In the event this race is rained off the turf, this runner also owns competitive races on dirt - finishing second on a wet dirt track once as well as a dry dirt track. How’s that for versatility?!
Best of luck 🍀🍀🍀to all our members playing Thursday’s races from Gulfstream Park!!
