Good morning team! Happy Saint Patrick’s 🍀🍀🍀🍀 Day to everyone ! It’s no secret that we’re after the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow 🌈 but in the meantime we’ll settle for a few winners until we can find it.
We kick off another exciting week with Gulfstream Park’s Wednesday card. We expect a fast main track and a firm turf course beneath sunny ☀️ skies in south Florida with mild temperatures.
Let’s get to work:
Gulfstream Park
Race 9: Call Curt - 1 pt win
Today’s feature race is an allowance optional claimer run at a mile and a half and our likely favorites in this one are runners whose best races are behind them. They’re being offered for sale in this optional claiming event. One thing in common that our three likely favorites: Focus Group, Go Poke the Bear and Pillar Mountain have is that they’re all VERY slow early. Gulfstream’s turf course has been particularly speed favoring lately so this is a great chance to take a shot with a horse running a mile and a half for the first time. He appears to be the controlling speed here and trainer Juan Avila is winning at a rate of 17% overall but he’s won 41% of his allowance races so he’s spotting his horses where they can win. 6 for 7 in the money at Gulfstream doesn’t hurt either. Gate to wire!

Race 10: Addi - 2 pts win - BEST BET
Maiden claimers race a mile to close the day and we’re going with Addi on the rail. Trainer Kathy Ritvo is winning at a rate of 15% at the Gulfstream Park meet but that number doubles to 30% with her runners going from turf to dirt like this one. She’s got the highest speed figure on dirt by a wide margin and I’d love to see Junior Alvarado hustle her out of the gate to get some early positional speed.
Best of luck 🍀🍀🍀🍀 to all our members playing races from Gulfstream Park on Wednesday!
Sunday Recap
Frustrating Sunday at Gulfstream. It began when Comp’d out broke Princess Coro in Race 2. The rail has been awfully good and nobody was able to run her down. In Race 6, our $1,000,000 first time starter - Zuri didn’t run a step on debut. In Race 7, Fuego Caliente got a perfect trip sitting just off the speed but had no punch 🥊 when it counted finishing an uninspiring 4th. This was particularly disappointing as I had had high hopes for this runner and it’s one of the reasons this game is so challenging. Just when you think you’ve got things figured out, it will find another way to humble you. We closed out the day by losing a tight photo after leading the entire way around the track and fighting all the way. We had some success early on last week and look ahead to another exciting week with our sights set on the Louisiana Derby among other races.
