Horse Racing Roulette? Yes, You ‘Red’ That Right

When the winter meet at Santa Anita begins the day after another Santa delivers gifts, the track will be offering a new type of wager, similar to Roulette.

Since many amateur bettors pick a horse based on the color of the jockey’s silks, why not incorporate color into the wagering scheme. So in races of 6 horses or more, the field will be divided into red, black and green pools and you can bet for one of the colored pools instead of one of the individual horses. It’s like the track creating a race of all multi-horse entries.
