New York Liberty at Dallas Wings, 8 pm Eastern
The Pick: New York +4 (-113), bet $5 to win $4.45
New York gets another crack at Dallas after losing to them on Monday, and now Wings star Arike Ogunbowale is out with an injured hip. Those are the only reasons I’m taking the Liberty here. I think Dallas is not only better but has turned a corner. However, being without their main scorer and now having clinched a playoff spot, Dallas can be forgiven for taking their foot off the gas tonight. Not to mention, New York is currently a half-game out of the postseason - they need this game badly.
Minnesota Lynx at Phoenix Mercury, 10 pm Eastern
The Pick: Phoenix +3.5 (-110), bet $7.50 to win $6.82
Yeah, I know about the injuries. I don’t care. First off, Skylar Diggins-Smith is listed as probable. Second, although Diana Taurasi is out for the season, this game is a battle for the playoffs. Both of these teams have a shot at making the postseason, and Phoenix right now has the edge. They’re at home, and Minnesota has been a chaotic mess all season. I see no real reason the Mercury should be getting points at home. So I’ll take those points, thank you very much.
