Minnesota Lynx at Atlanta Dream, 7 pm Eastern
The Pick: Atlanta -1.5 (-102), bet $7.50 to win $7.35
I like the Dream returning home after four games on the road. Atlanta showed real growth on that trip, beating Phoenix and Las Vegas before getting fatigued. A return back East will reinvigorate them. Minnesota has dropped three straight, putting a bit of a damper on their mid season rise. I like the Dream to take another step tonight.
Seattle Storm at Connecticut Sun, 7 pm Eastern
The Pick: Connecticut -3 (-115), bet $7.50 to win $6.53
I may have thrown dirt on the Sun too early (that’s a visual, huh? How does my shovel reach that far?) Connecticut is fighting in every game, and though they’re not the same defensively as last year, they CAN still guard. I think they’ll want to show those enamored with Seattle that they still might have something to say come playoff time.
Washington Mystics at Dallas Wings, 8 pm Eastern
The Pick: Dallas -1 (-112), bet $5.60 to win $5
I think Dallas will be gunning to prove they're on the same tier as Washington tonight. The Mystics are better, but not by that much and it’s more that the Wings are erratic than less talented. I like Dallas at home.
Los Angeles Sparks at Phoenix Mercury, 10 pm Eastern
The Pick: Los Angeles +3.5 (-104), bet $7.50 to win $7.21
Liz Cambage and the Los Angeles Sparks parted ways earlier this week, and I’ve never heard of a better example of “addition by subtraction” in my entire life. For all of her physical gifts, Cambage was a moody and performative distraction from the moment she signed with L.A. in the off-season. I’m confident the Sparks will be more united without her, and tonight will be the first example. Many will be surprised they give Phoenix a game missing their “star,” but not me.
