Las Vegas Aces at New York Liberty, 11 am Eastern
The Pick: Las Vegas -6.5 (-105), bet $7.50 to win $7.14
This is the third straight game between these two teams, but even though Las Vegas won by six on Sunday, I don’t think that was enough to take the sting out of losing to the Liberty on July 6. The Aces are trying to regain early season form; they’ll take a step towards that tonight.
Dallas Wings at Minnesota Lynx, 8 pm Eastern
The Pick: Minnesota -6.5 (-104), bet $7.50 to win $7.21
Well, look what we have here - a matchup between two teams in which my editor feels I have an irrational faith. That may be true, but the difference between the Wings and the Lynx right now is, the Lynx are kicking butt. Minnesota has won four of five, each of them by double-digits. One of those four was against Dallas, who they stomped by 28. I think the Lynx are making their run now, and I’m going to back them until they prove it’s fool’s gold.
Washington Mystics at Phoenix Mercury, 10 pm Eastern
The Pick: Washington -2.5 (-115), bet $7.50 to win $6.52
This line moved from an opening Phoenix -3 to where it stands now, and I still feel perfectly fine with it. The Mystics beat the Mercury by 18 on June 14 and are 10-4 against the spread on the road. Yeah, I’m fine with this.
Chicago Sky at Los Angeles Sparks, 10:30 pm Eastern
The Pick: Chicago -4.5 (-110), bet $7.50 to win $6.82
Nah, I don’t think Sky superstar Candace Parker has had her fill of beating up on her old team yet. Chicago has won seven of their last eight games, and five of seven on the road. Sparks guard Chennedy Carter is listed as out, and Sky point guard Courtney Vandersloot will take advantage.
