Seattle O’Sullivan 2022 WNBA Season so far: 81-56, +$158.08
(Yesterday: 2-1, +$4.50)
(Standing Caveat: The universe is chaotic. Life is unpredictable. Things happen. Like injuries. And COVID protocols. Chicago Sky at Minnesota Lynx, 1 pm Eastern
The Pick: Chicago -137, bet $7.50 to win $5.47
Chicago’s won five straight, and heading into the All-Star Break has made a case that they’re the best team in the WNBA. While Minnesota has improved to 7-15 after a 3-13 start, well, they are still 7-15. The Lynx have had an impressive week, beating Dallas and then thrashing Las Vegas on Sunday, but the Sky are better top-to-bottom, and will dominate in the backcourt. Guards Courtney Vandersloot and Kahleah Copper will have their way with Minnesota’s guards, and the Sky will head into the break looking better than they did last season…when they wound up winning it all.
Washington Mystics at Atlanta Dream, 8 pm Eastern
The Pick: Atlanta +5.5 (-113), bet $7.50 to win $6.68
Washington has beaten Atlanta by double-digits both times they’ve played this season, but the Dream are getting better with every game. In the last week, they’ve beaten the Liberty in a tough comeback overtime win, and a veteran Seattle team expected to challenge for the championship. Each game seems to be a lesson for the young, talented Atlanta squad. So I think they’ll hang better tonight against a Washington team that’s just .500 on the road. If Mystics star Elena Delle Donne doesn’t play (she’s listed as probable), even better. But I think Atlanta keeps it close tonight regardless.
New York Liberty at Las Vegas Aces, 10 pm Eastern
The Pick: Las Vegas -10.5 (-112), bet $7.50 to win $6.70
I mean, Las Vegas legitimately needs this game. Heading into the break, they’ve dropped four of six, and just lost by 31 - 31! - to a 7-15 Minnesota team. The Aces need to right the ship, right now. I think they will against a New York team that’s dropped two in a row and has been on the road all week. Las Vegas has a number of All-Stars: A’ja Wilson, Kelsey Plum, Dearica Hamby. They must be fully aware they need to start playing like All-Stars again. I think tonight’s a crucial game for the Aces, and I think they respond.
