New York Liberty at Connecticut Sun, 7 pm Eastern
The Pick: Connecticut -9.5 (-112), bet $8.40 to win $7.50
This line is probably affected somewhat by the win New York had over Connecticut in the season opener on May 7 - or should I say, way back on May 7. After that win, the Liberty lost seven in a row. Even if New York have turned it around a bit, bringing their record up to 6-10, I’m betting the Sun remember the loss and are spoiling to make up for it in their own gym. In that opener, the Liberty shot 40% from three while the Sun shot 23.5%. I’m expecting those percentages to be closer tonight. After Chicago’s upset of Las Vegas last night, Connecticut is just a half-game ahead of the Sky for the Eastern Conference lead. It might not be a direct response, but tonight’s game will be a response.
