Last night I was watching the superb ESPN 30 for 30 documentary, Dream On, and I noticed in her interview, stellar former point guard and current stellar coach Dawn Staley was wearing a t-shirt that read, "Bet on women." A terrific and important sentiment, to be sure, but I'm way ahead of you, Dawn. I went 2-1 last night, in fact.

I have four words for you: Elena Delle Donne is out. Is that five words? Since she joined the team in 2017, the Washington Mystics are 66-29 when Delle Donne plays, and 28-43 when she doesn’t. They were 12-20 without her all of last season. So here are five words: The Mystics need Delle Donne Not to mention, New York just beat Washington two weeks ago, 74-70, in Washington, when Delle Donne played. So the Liberty know they can beat the Mystics with or without her. Finally, while I wouldn’t argue New York is on fire or anything, they have won four of their last six, and are 5-1 ATS in their last six. That’s nice, but this is more about the Mystics resting their best player. I’ll take the home dog here.
