Seattle O’Sullivan 2022 WNBA Season so far: 8-10, -$31.14

(Yesterday: 2-1, +$8.50)

(Standing Caveat: The universe is chaotic. Life is unpredictable. Things happen. Like injuries. And COVID protocols. In following Seattle O’Sullivan’s betting advice, be advised that you should always monitor your bets during the day to make certain unforeseen things have not occurred which might change your wagering opinion. Thank you.)

Phoenix Mercury at Seattle Storm, 3 pm Eastern

The Pick: Seattle +2.5 (-110), bet $11 to win $10

Just three days ago, Phoenix beat Seattle by twenty, 97-77, so why am I going with the Storm tonight? Well, first of all, tonight’s game is in Seattle. Second, in that game Breanna Stewart did not play due to COVID quarantine, while she may play tonight. Third, this is the second to last chance to watch Storm star Sue Bird face Mercury star Diana Taurasi – both icons are playing their last season. That means both teams will be going all out and if anything, creating a tight game. Taking the home dog in a situation where a tight game is likely is the move. I think Seattle makes up for Wednesday.

Los Angeles Sparks at Connecticut Sun, 7 pm Eastern

The Pick: Connecticut -6.5 (-118), bet $11.80 to win $10

Connecticut players have been waiting for a week to make up for their opening loss to New York, while Sparks players have been on the road since the beginning of the season. This is Los Angeles’s fourth straight road game, and it’s against arguably the best team in the WNBA. The Sun only shot 23.5% from three-point land in their opener, and reigning MVP Jonquel Jones shot 6-17 from the field in the loss. The Sun have been burning (eye roll) to make up for that loss, and will take it out on the Sparks tonight.

Chicago Sky at Minnesota Lynx, 8 pm Eastern

The Pick: Minnesota +8.5 (-120), bet $9 to win $7.50

This is strictly a “getting way too many points at home” pick. I am already regretting my confidence in Minnesota without Napheesa Collier. But 8.5 points is a lo-ot of points to get in your own gym. I think the number of new players on the squad have resulted in a learning process, and Minnesota should get better - but they’re not going anywhere without Collier. The Lynx have kicked off the season 0-3 (so they’ve kicked it right into the gutter, I suppose) so they need this game. Chicago is coming off a 33-point win and is bound to relax, even just a little bit. I’ll put fewer dollars on it to mitigate the pain.
