WNBA Saturday: After 4-0 Friday, O'Sullivan picks Liberty at Wings, Sun at Phoenix, as one win streak will end
4-0 last night. (Yawn)
Seattle O’Sullivan so far: 121-96-1
New York Liberty at Dallas Wings, 8 pm Eastern
The Pick: Dallas -4.5 (-110)
The Wings are at home, and they’re a better team...and I think that somehow they’ll know if I pick against them. (laughs) I’m kidding...mostly. This is a huge game, as the Liberty are just one game behind Wings for the seventh seed. I’m banking on the point differential between the two squads (-0.4 for Dallas, -7.2 for New York) is an indicator of the true difference between them. No, it’s not that Dallas knows when I’m mad at them. No, not at all.
Connecticut Sun at Phoenix Mercury, 10 pm Eastern
The Pick: Connecticut -170
Both teams are white-hot. Phoenix has won 10 straight; Connecticut 11 straight. The Sun are the better team, so I’m riding them ’til they buck me. I think they’ll want to show the Mercury they’re the team to beat, and their defense is the best in the WNBA. Since the Sun are on the road, I’ll just lose a little value to take a straight win.
