Men’s Quarterfinals

Roberto Bautista Agut over Guida Pella
This is the only quarterfinal where none of the Big Three are playing, and, not surprisingly, this will be the one that will be the closest contest. It need not be said at this point that these guys are both playing great tennis. That’s a given. But which of the two can claim superiority on the grass courts in London? It’s really a close call considering how well each has come through the draw, but I’m leaning toward RBA, because he’s just been so consistently excellent. That’s not taking anything away from Pella, but RBA, in my opinion, has burst onto the scene this year, starting with his wonderful showing in Melbourne, and has shown that he can play excellent tennis, and win, on any and every surface. This will probably go five, and it wouldn’t surprise me if it went past the 6-all barrier, but in the end, I think RBA ekes out a win.

Novak Djokovic over David Goffin
Can Goffin win a set against No. 1 in the world? Maybe, but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Roger Federer over Kei Nishikori
The Fed is clicking on all cylinders and there’s nothing Nishikori can do to derail the train.

Rafa Nadal over Sam Querrey
American Sam Querrey can win a set. Maybe two. But he can’t beat Nadal in the quarters at Wimbledon. Rafa wants Federer, and he’s gonna get him.
