Tennis: In St. Petersburg Doubles, we’re not waffling on Belgians

Here’s a play if you just have a compulsion to make a tennis bet.

First Round Doubles

Krisen Flipkens (BEL) & Alison Van Uytvanck (BEL) over Paula Kania (POL) & Yana Sizikova (RUS)
Think doubles is out of fashion and doesn’t matter? Well, here in the draw of 16 teams, the winning team shares $44,200—a real nice week of work if you can find it. For a great esoteric bet I’d place some well earned dough on the Belgian team of Flipkens and Van Uytvanck. As long as the two can play at full capacity and are getting along (Van Uytvanck smacked down Flipkens in the singles draw 6-2, 6-4), they should romp to this first round win. It’s an obscure bet, but it pays just the same.
