Today, we’ll reveal the opening odds and three bets below for the Premier League matches on Saturday, September 20th. Let’s get into it!
Liverpool is once again looking like the team to beat this season. They are a perfect 4-0 in their league games and won their opening match in Champions League play as well.
They will be hosting cross-town rivals, Everton, who aren't off to a bad start themselves. Since their week 1 loss, they are 2-0-1 and 6th in the table. Liverpool owns this matchup, however, and Everton has failed to score in 5 of the last 7 meetings between these teams.
This should be a fun game between two solid teams. Brighton is great at home, being undefeated in their last 6, with 3 wins and 3 draws. Tottenham started the season very strongly, with 3 wins and 1 loss in league play.
They have also allowed only one goal and are outscoring their opponents 8-1 over the first 4 league games. Beating Brighton at home will be a tough task, and I am expecting some goals from two solid offenses. Over 2.5 goals has hit in all of their last 5 meetings.
Both of these teams are off to pretty rough starts, with both sides sitting with only one win. Both teams are also coming into this game off back-to-back losses, so they need some momentum to shift.
Forest was a huge surprise last season, finishing within the top 10, and they will be looking to start winning again this weekend. However, Burnley is back in the Premier League and looking to stick around. Both these teams have had some leaky defenses, so we should have a fun game.
Crystal Palace has yet to lose a game this season; however, they have only one win. They will be travelling to West Ham to take on a team that has looked awful so far this season.
West Ham has been outscored 11-4 in the first 3 games, and they looked hopeless on defense. Palace haven’t been lighting it up on offense, but they are the better team in this matchup.
This is a matchup between two teams that will likely be battling relegation at the end of the season. Wolves are still without a win this season and have scored just 2 goals over their first 4 games.
Leeds had a shocking week 1 win over Everton, but have lost two and drawn one since then. Leeds’s only bright spot has been their defense, allowing only one goal outside of their 5-0 loss to Arsenal. I think this may be a low-scoring affair between two bad offenses.
Chelsea is off to a great start, while Man U looks to once again be sputtering. This is always a fun game between two historic squads, but Man U is without a win in this matchup since 2023.
Having the home field may help Man U’s case a bit, but they will need to hold off Chelsea’s offense that has scored 9 goals over their first 4 league games. Both teams to score has hit in 4 of the last 5 games, so that may be something to look for.
Fulham are coming into this game off their first league win of the season over Leeds. Both of these sides have only one win over their first 4 league games, but Fulham has looked much more solid against good competition.
Having the home field will likely help Fulham, but Brentford is a scrappy team. This should be a fun one to close out an exciting Saturday of league play.
Tottenham at Brighton Over 2.5 Goals (-155) - Over the last 5 matches between these two sides, we have seen over 2.5 goals hit all 5 times. Tottenham has scored 8 goals over their first 4 games, and Brighton has allowed at least 1 goal in each of their 4. I think this will be a high-scoring affair.
Nottingham Forest (+120) at Burnley - Forest are off to a rough start after they had a historic season last year. They need to get back on track soon if they have any hopes of competing for European play. Burnley isn’t a very great team, and I like the odds of Forest getting back on track this weekend.
Crystal Palace (+140) at West Ham - West Ham has been plain bad this year. They have allowed 11 goals over their first 4 games and have looked helpless. Palace hasn’t been great on offense, but I think they will be able to take advantage of a team that is averaging over 3 goals allowed per game this season.
