The FA Cup has reached the quarterfinals with only 8 teams left in the tournament. Of the 8 teams left, we have 7 Premier League squads and only 1 Championship squad left, so we are down to some elite competition.
Today, we’ll break down all 4 games, and I’ll give you my two best bets for this weekend’s slate of games. Let’s get into it!
Both of these teams are coming into this game in relatively good form. Fulham has won 3 of their last 5 matches, while Palace has won 4 in a row. That 4-match win streak includes a 2-0 road win at Fulham’s Craven Cottage at the end of February.
Palace have been very solid on the road so far this season, with the seventh-best road record in the Premier League. This should be a fun game to kick off the weekend.
Brighton has been on fire lately and is looking to bring that momentum into this game. Before their 2-2 draw with Man City, their last time out, they had won 4 straight games, including their 5th round win against Newcastle.
This should be a fun game, however, as Forest is still a top team in the Premier League. Forest is unbeaten in their last 4 matches and holds a 7-0 win over Brighton from earlier this year. We should be in for a fun match between two of the better teams remaining.
Preston is the final Championship League team standing in the FA Cup, and they will have a tough task against Aston Villa this weekend. Preston isn’t coming into this game in necessarily good form, winning only one of their last 4.
Villa is coming into this game pretty hot, so I think Preston is going to have a very tough time keeping this run alive. They’ve scored just 3 goals over their last 4 game,s and that is not going to cut it against a strong team like Villa.
Neither of these teams have been amazing over their last 5 games, so they will be looking to gain some momentum and keep their Cup Championship dreams alive.
Bournemouth got the better of City back in November and have been solid basically all season. However, it will be tough to fight off this talented City squad. Bournemouth is seeking its first major Trophy win in the club's history, so this will be a big one to keep those dreams alive.
Crystal Palace (+210) at Fulham - Palace has been solid on the road all season, and they are coming into this game in great form. I think they can get it done on the road this weekend, and I love the odds.
Manchester City (+135) vs Bournemouth - It is always hard not to take Man City when they are plus money. They have all the talent in the world, but they haven’t kept it all together this year. Still, I think they will be playing with a purpose and hoping to bring home a trophy.
