Both of these teams have gotten off on the wrong foot this season. Southampton is still looking for their first points of the season, losing all three of their league games so far. Man United has one win but has lost their last 2 games straight. Man U is a clear favorite as the more talented team but look for both of these teams to play for the win.
Brighton is the clearly more talented team in this matchup, hence the wide gap in the odds. Brighton have been unbeaten in their last eight competitions, while Ipswich has not kept a clean sheet in any of their four games. Ipswich got their first point in their last game in a draw against Fulham, but I don’t see them pulling out the win against the Seagulls.
Crystal Palace and Leicester are still searching for their first league win of the season. Leicester has been struggling in recent games, even after a shocking draw with Tottenham to start the season. Crystal Palace are unbeaten in their last two home games against Leicester, and they also ended last season with four wins in five at home.
Both of these squads are off to mediocre starts to the season. This matchup will surely be a big one for both sides looking to improve their position in the league table. Fulham have won the last two matchups between the teams a total of 7-0. Fulham have also been the first to score in four of the last five games. The home crowd should give Fulham a much-needed boost in this closely contested match.
Liverpool have gotten off to a perfect start this season and I expect this to continue at home against Nottingham Forest. Forest is off to a good start themselves, still unbeaten, but come into this game as huge underdogs. Liverpool is in fantastic form with no losses in their last 12 matches. They have won all three league games this season, including a 3-0 victory at Man United last time out.
Manchester City is the obviously better team in this match. City have won their last five league games in a row and are unbeaten at home in 90 minutes since November 2022. City have also won four of their last six head-to-head meetings with Brentford. Don’t expect much back and forth in this match.
Aston Villa have started this season on the right note, winning 2 out of 3 of their first league games. On the other hand, Everton has struggled losing all 3 of their league games this season. What we need to look for now is how Villa will handle the extra load of Champions League games weekly. Villa is the better team, but we will see if they can keep up with their increased schedule.
It has been a shaky start for Chelsea, who come into this game below Bournemouth in the league table. However, Chelsea has a good history against Bournemouth being unbeaten in their last 5 matches. Chelsea always aspires to be at the top of the league, so they will be playing for the win. Bournemouth have lost only one of their last 8 league games at home, so it will be no easy feat for the Blues to take home 3 points.
In the premier game of the weekend, we have Arsenal and Tottenham facing off in the North London Derby. This bitter rivalry is always an exciting match. Arsenal have been dominant lately, being unbeaten in their last 4 matches with Tottenham. This game has also been historically high scoring with the Over 2.5 goals hitting in five of the last six matches. Expect a ton of action and a wild crowd at this one.
Newcastle remains unbeaten this season, sitting at 5th in the league table currently. Wolves, on the other hand, are still winless going into this match. Newcastle is also unbeaten in their last 5 matches against Wolves. Wolves have been in bad form this season, conceding 9 goals in their first 3 games.
Newcastle +110 over Wolves - Wolves have been in terrible shape in their recent games, basically the complete contrast from Newcastle. I think Newcastle has too much goal-scoring potential to lose this one.
Arsenal +130 at Tottenham - Arsenal have been one of the more dominant teams in the Premier League the past couple of years, while Tottenham has struggled to find their footing. I think they bring too much firepower into this rivalry game to lose.
Fulham +140 at West Ham - Fulham have won the last two matchups between the teams a total of 7-0. While Fulham hasn’t gotten off to the best start this season, expect them to turn it around this weekend.
