European football Saturday picks: a stroll around the continent sees Benfica, Bayern Munich heavily favored

If you have followed Bettors Insider for a few years, you will know my strategy on the big fish in Europe: back them at all costs most weeks in domestic play.

Bayern Munich has outscored three teams so far in Bundesliga action 15-1, and now gets a Monchengladbach team off to a hot start in the league: well, until today, that is.

In Portugal, there is a lot of talk about Ronaldo coming home from Manchester United, which could tilt the balance of the league. For now, both Porto and Benfica look set to contest the title, and Benfica will look to build on two clean sheet wins. SLB won last week 1-0, but did so playing a man down.

Today, look for both powerhouse clubs to win easily.
