La Liga Saturday picks: Real Madrid looking to open up five-point gap on Barcelona already

The reigning European champions lost Casemiro to Manchester United, but have plenty of reinforcements to not miss a beat

It has been an interesting week for the reigning La Liga and UEFA Champions League title holders.

Casemiro, who is the best defensive midfielder in the world and an integral part of five Champions League titles, left Real Madrid to sign with Manchester United. Los Merengues are well stocked in that area, though, with Eduardo Camavinga and Aurielien Tchoumeni set to take over the midfield role for the next decade.

Saturday, Real Madrid visits Celta Vigo, and can open a five-point lead (much like Manchester City did over Liverpool) over Barcelona early on in the season. Does that matter?

Yes. It is not the be all, end all, but a gap is a gap.

In one of the earlier La Liga matches Saturday, reigning Copa Del Rey winners Real Betis travel to Mallorca for an interesting contest for bettors and fans alike.

It could get "REAL" today!
