UEFA Champions League Wednesday: Benfica PSV highlight day with Malmö Ludogorets BSC Young Boys Ferencváros
What an interesting day we had in the UEFA Champions League Playoffs.
The big winner from Tuesday was FC Sheriff Tiraspol, which has fallen so many times at the second to last or last hurdle to make the Champions League group stage for the first time. The Moldovian side heads to Zagreb next week with a 3-0 advantage, and Dinamo Zagreb is lucky it isn't down 5-0 in the tie: Sheriff was that good.
Today, we have three more games in the Champions League and one big match in the UEFA Europa League as well.
The headliner today is Benfica hosting PSV Eindhoven. It is going to be a shame to see either of these teams out of this competition, but only one will be in the Champions League group stage. I expect a lot of goals here.
The other two games see Malmö FF host Ludogorets Razgrad and Berner Sport Club Young Boys host Ferencváros at the Wankdorf.
In the Europa League, Celtic, which seems to have found its feet after a rough start, host an AZ Alkmaar team that has been struggling to replace some sold players.
Like yesterday, there could be a surprise result: but which one will it be?
