Sean Miller's EURO2020 Round of 16 Preview: First 8 games, updated odds have France, Italy, England on top

UEFA EURO 2020 Group Stage is over, and now it is time for the real fun to begin

After waiting a year for the UEFA EURO 2020 to finally start, fans and bettors were not disappointed by a thrilling two weeks of group stage play.

But that was just the warm up: now, the real action begins, and there is no more margin for error.

Teams like Sweden, which shocked many by winning Group E over Spain, Netherlands, which won Group C handily, and even the current world champions France, which beat out Portugal and Germany to win the Group of Death, will all have to keep impressing or else they will be sent packing.

The group stage did not play out exactly as I had predicted, but there are some very interesting Round-of-16 matchups coming up over the next four days.

Starting Saturday, and going through Tuesday, there will be eight games played (two per day, 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. EDT), and there must be a winner for each contest. So you know what that means, right?

Penalties.

Here, the team to go through bets are in play, which gives you another opportunity to wager if you like the underdog.

Italy comes into Saturday on a 30-match unbeaten run, with 11-straight clean sheets. The Azzurri were also the first team in European Championship history to win all three group stage games via shutout. This team is DANGEROUS.

There are two games that stand out right away as heavyweight battles, and worthy of finals. Sunday at 3 p.m. EDT, Belgium will take on Portugal, with one of the two pre-tournament favorites heading home very early. Then on Tuesday at high noon, England will host Germany in a match that has provided some fireworks in the past.

The winner of that Tuesday game has a clear path to Wembley for the final on July 11, although I think Netherlands will have a huge say in that as well.
