The goal gave Palmeiras a 1-0 win over Santos, and bragging rights on the South American continent for a year.

But in Serie A, those two teams are well down the table. Internacional leads it by five points over Atletico MG, with Flamengo-RJ in third with a game in hand.

That game is tonight, as they visit Sporting Recife.
