Olympique Marseille is a different squad when Thuavin and Payet play together. We play early in anticipation of these two in the Starting XI. Papa Gueye has been on scorching form as well running the middle of the park. The Olympique Marseille v. Montpellier game was the most intense, physical, and fast-paced Ligue 1 game I have watched all season. If Olympique Marseille come out with that motor against a Dijon team that sits in, then one early goal could open the floodgates. We bank on Lille to out-class Nimes in these low confidence plays.

AS Monaco v. Angers | Ligue 1

These teams sit even on points with the same record to this point in the league season. Both teams have played solid football at times this year, but we would argue Angers has played better ball recently. Monaco has won two of its last three, but its last 5-2 outing against Lorient was an aberration as Monaco sat even with Lorient on a red card early in the second half. We fade Monaco here because of the absence of Cesc Fabregas. We see the game as a coinflip matchup, so these big plus money odds provide solid value.

AC Milan v. Torino | Serie A

AC Milan should get back on track against relegation-threatened Torino on the back of its disappointing loss to the Bianconeri on Wednesday.

Atletico Madrid v. Athletic Bilbao | La Liga

Atletico tend to score when Suarez plays. Cannot see Atletico being too conservative considering the performance it produced in Copa del Rey at the week. Hearing Saul Niguez will once again be dropped to the bench. Although he has had injury problems recently causing some of his lack of playing time, this is a significant development as Niguez had been considered one of the highest-class midfielders in the world during Atletico Madrid’s improbable Champions League run last year where Simeone’s side defeated the Premier League Champions and previous European holders, Liverpool. Saul has also traditionally been a favorite of Cholo; a previous shoe-in for any Atletico first-choice XI.
