Bet Premier League Saturday: Sean Miller picks Everton vs Manchester United, Chelsea vs Sheffield

Everton (+185) vs. Manchester United (+145), draw (+245), 7:30 a.m. EDT (NBCSN); Chelsea (-275) vs. Sheffield United (+700), draw (+400), 12:30 p.m. EDT (NBC)

Is this Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s last game with Manchester United? It could well be with a loss

How can Manchester United beat PSG 2-1 and RB Leipzig 5-0, then play the way it did over the last two matches in the league and UEFA Champions League?

This has been the way of the Red Devils for far too long now, up and down, gain some momentum then lose it. When they went unbeaten for six months to finish third, it looked like they had turned the corner. But then F.A. Cup and Europa League semifinal losses, when they played poorly, along with the worst start to a home campaign in decades, has the questions asked again whether or not the team needs a change in leadership to get to the next level

There are a lot of things going against the Red Devils Saturday. I can’t remember the last time United played well in Liverpool (Juanfield?), and this game against Everton is always tricky: four of the last eight matches against the Toffees have ended 1-1, including the last two, while the match before those was 4-0 to Everton. However, United won three in a row prior to that thumping.

Ask Manchester United fans about this exact situation, and they will tell you that when Solskjaer’s Reds are backed into a corner, they always come out with a performance.

It is all up to his team, but I sense a performance in a town where they hardly ever play well.
