Leeds, Manchester rivalry resumes, as City takes on Bielsa’s Leeds United

Most of the vitriol and hatred between the Leeds and Manchester fanbases comes from the two United sides, Leeds United and Manchester United.

And trust me when I say it, those two sets of fans HATE each other: there were some legendary battles on and off the pitch in the 1970s and 1980s, among other times.

But this battle between towns goes back to Shakespearean times and the War of the Roses, and then continued into the Industrial Revolution times, which ironically is also the start of the Liverpool Manchester rivalry.

Today, on the pitch, Leeds will host Manchester City, and it should be only the goals flowing, instead of blood. But there should be a lot of them, and I expect City to win this.
