Euro Soccer Saturday: Andrew Chase picks matches in the German Bundesliga, Spain's La Liga and the English Premier League
After an exciting week of league cup games and the Champions League and Europa League draws, we are back to our usual schedule of league play games. October will see tons of great fixtures throughout the month, but tomorrow does not have a lot of them. Here are my plays for your Saturday morning:
German Bundesliga
Borussia Dortmund vs. Freiburg - 9:30 AM EDT
Dortmund has not lost to Freiburg in their last seven meetings, but their last two were a 1-0 win in February, and a 2-2 draw almost exactly one year ago. Dortmund has had a disappointing run of form lately and is looking to bounce back. Freiburg has not lost a game since June and surprised everyone during the Bundesliga restart after the break from COVID-19. I believe the spread is too large tomorrow to not take Freiburg, as a lot of their games the past six months have seen bettors benefit from large spreads.
The Play: Freiburg +1.5 EVEN - 1 Unit
Spanish La Liga
Atletico Madrid vs. Villareal - 10 AM EDT
Luis Suarez and the powerful Atletico Madrid side were very disappointed on Wednesday with a shocking draw against SD Huesca. Villareal is a very respectable side, but manager Diego Simeone will not let his Madrid team be disappointed again. Villareal has been all over the place form-wise to kick off this season, and I expect nothing different tomorrow.
The Play: Atletico Madrid Moneyline -160 - 1 Unit
English Premier League
Leeds United vs. Manchester City - 12:30 PM EDT
Leeds disappointed us on Sunday with a boring 1-0 win, but it is hard to believe that they only see one goal again Saturday against Manchester City after Leeds' incredible 7 goal outings the two matches before that. Manchester City was absolutely humbled by Leicester City on Sunday, losing 5-2, and are going to be out for blood with Leeds as the victim. 3.5 goals is a large over/under for tomorrow, but I don't expect this game to be a good example of how to play defense.
The Play: Over 3.5 Goals -115 - 2 Units
Stay tuned tomorrow afternoon for my MLS plays.
