European football is back, and so are the picks

I know you missed the action. But fret not, the UEFA Nations League Qualifiers bring some really tasty appetizers this weekend, before the main course next weekend: the return of the Premier League and La Liga, amongst others.
While most of the action today is on ESPN+, ESPN2 has the tie of the round, with Spain taking on Germany on Match Day 1 of six spread over the next few months.
The first Nations League was an instant success, as host nation Portugal beat Switzerland then Netherlands to win the title in 2019. The next finals will be in a year, after the EURO 2021 (moved back a year from this summer).
If you are not familiar with the Nations League, it pits teams of similar strength against each other in Leagues (League 1 is the top ranked teams, League 4 the bottom). The four group winners of League 1 will play next fall to see who wins the second edition. But it also gives teams like Latvia and Andorra, playing today in League 4, chances to win games.
Germany vs. Spain is a toss up, and will depend on the lineups. But I expect there to be goals.
