Manchester City looks to set up massive UEFA Champions League semifinal with win over Lyon Saturday

The matchup fans around the world have been waiting for since the UEFA Champions League draw was conducted last month is nearly here.

Bayern Munich put on a stunning display Friday, driving a final stake through the heart of the crumbling Barcelona empire in an 8-2 destruction. That Bayern team will now get a chance to play the winner of the Manchester City Lyon contest on Wednesday, with a Champions League Final waiting next Sunday.

We just need Manchester City to take care of Lyon Saturday.

There will be so much focus on Wednesday’s semifinal if the Cityzens can get past a Lyon side that just knocked out Juventus, but they have to take care of business.

Manchester City is a -560 favorite today, and really should have no problems with Lyon. It will be interesting to see if the Cityzens throw down their own marker and put up four or five goals.

Either way, this new look Champions League format continues to impress.
