UEFA Europa League early Wednesday: Miller picks Shakhtar Donetsk vs Wolfsburg and F.C. Copenhagen vs Istanbul Baṣakṣehir

Shakhtar Donetsk, Istanbul Baṣakṣehir look to use first leg advantage to move on in UEFA Europa League action. Both matches begin at 12:55 pm EDT.

The return of the UEFA Europa League tournament sees two really intriguing ties right out of the gate.

Both Shakhtar Donetsk and Istanbul Baṣakṣehir hold one-goal leads going into the Round-of-16 second legs, but it is Shakhtar Donetsk that goes home with the lead, and the away goals advantage. Istanbul Baṣakṣehir must travel to face a decent F.C. Copenhagen side in Denmark to move on to the quarterfinals, and almost certainly a matchup with Manchester United.

These games are really tough to call, but I think Shakhtar Donetsk has the edge over Wolfsburg, which has not played in a month, while Istanbul Baṣakṣehir should find enough with its veteran squad to move on into the quarters.
