Tuesday EFL Championship Playoff Final: Miller has odds and picks for Brentford vs Fulham

EFL Championship Final pits two London teams looking for Premier League glory. Match time is 2:45 pm EDT.

Fulham knows what it is like to play in the Premier League.

The Cottagers, who actually played in a UEFA Europa League Final in 2010 (thanks in large part to the best American player ever, Clint Dempsey), were relegated to the EFL Championship after the 2018-19 season in their first season back up in the top flight.

For Brentford, the wait has been a little longer.

Try 1947.

The Bees were a League Two (three divisions below Premier League) as recently as 2009, then spent five more seasons in League One until their promotion to the Championship.

Brentford scored the most goals in the league this season, and beat Fulham twice this season, keeping a clean sheet both times.

In fact, in the nine games these two teams have played dating back to 2015, Fulham has just one win: Brentford has six, with two draws.

These games are so tough to call, especially with the financial implications involved. According to this story in the Independent, a win for Brentford would mean almost $210 million over three years, and if the Bees (or Fulham) can stay in the league for at least a year, that number would go up to nearly $350 million.

Those are game-changing numbers.

I will go with Brentford, and the Bees’ ability to score multiple goals.
