Man U, Wolves, on track for possible fifth meeting this season in UEFA Europa League semifinals — Miller has the draw, odds, and picks

Manchester United is the heavy favorite to lift its second Europa League title in four seasons

When the draw for the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final of the 2019-2020 UEFA Europa League took place Friday, most Manchester United fans figured at some point they would see Wolverhampton along the way.

They may be right.

The two English Premier League sides, who have already played four times this season in the league and F.A. Cup, look set on a collision course for the semifinals, if both can navigate though possibly tricky ties, although that may mostly pertain to Wolves.

United, which already leads 5-0 over LASK Linz in the Round of 16 and is all but in the quarterfinals, would face either İstanbul Başakşehir or FC Copenhagen (Başakşehir leads 1-0 on aggregate). Wolves have a tough contest against Olmypiakos Piraeus (1-1 on aggregate) in the RO16, then have to face either Roma or Sevilla in the quarters.

Manchester United (+150) is the heavy favorite to lift its second Europa League title in four seasons, and earn an automatic place in next season’s UEFA Champions League, if the Red Devils do not already qualify through their league.

Internazionale is the second favorite at +600, thanks in part to its spot on the other side of the bracket.

With the news Thursday that Turner and B/R Live had relinquished their rights to broadcast the rest of the tournament (HALLELUJAH!!!), CBS is now the sole rights provider for the next four years. Whether that means games will be on CBS, or on CBS All-Access, is still to be determined, but now both UEFA tournaments have a new home.

BEST GAME OF THE QUARTERFINAL ROUND

If Kai Havertz stays with Leverkusen, and his team holds on after a 3-1 win over Rangers in the RO16 first leg, quarterfinal one could be very good. Leverkusen will take on the winner of Inter and Getafe, which will be the best contest of the RO16.

But for the Fubo.tv Match of the Round, I will go with Sevilla/Roma vs. Olympiacos/Wolves. The first Ro16 match will be a one off, while the second one sees Wolves heading home all square 1-1 after the first leg in Greece.
