With Premier League top four battle in full swing, Tottenham looks to join the fray

What a day it was yesterday for the trailing pack in the Premier League top four battle.

Everton held on to beat Leicester City (55 points) 2-1, while West Ham United stunned Chelsea (54 points) 3-2, leaving both Manchester United and Wolverhampton (52 points) within two points of moving into the top four. Both the Red Devils and Wolves have very manageable schedules as well.

Thursday, it is Tottenham’s opportunity to jump back into the battle royale, and Sheffield United’s chance to stop the rot.

The Blades were the darling of the league for the first 29 matches, but have all but fallen out of the UEFA Champions League race since the restart. A win today, though, would keep alive their Europa League hopes.

In the other game, champion Liverpool takes on a Manchester City team waiting to hear its fate for next season from the CAS.
