It was not pretty Saturday for Manchester United.

But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s gamble to play a weakened side for the first 60 minutes paid off, as the Red Devils advanced into the F.A. Cup semifinals with a 2-1 win over Norwich City.

Now, United will go in search of another important goal Tuesday against Brighton: a top four finish.

Not content to wait for Manchester City’s ban appeal, the Red Devils can move to within two points of Chelsea in fourth place, and three to third place Leicester City, with a win.

Manchester United already rotated its squad and still found a way into the F.A. Cup semi finals. Brighton, with Norwich City on the schedule Saturday, could do the same here in this spot, knowing one more win would probably lock up another season in the Premier League.
