Premier League Monday: Miller picks Crystal Palace vs Burnley

We are still a week or so (maybe longer) from finding out if Manchester City’s two-year UEFA ban is going to be upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

For teams like Burnley and Crystal Palace, who clash Monday in an intriguing Premier League contest, that decision from CAS could have massive implications. Both teams come into the day on 42 points, knowing that a victory would take them into eighth place, and even with seventh place Tottenham on 45 points.

Why is that important? If City is banned, it would mean Liverpool, plus third through fifth, will head to the UEFA Champions League next season, while sixth through eighth goes into the Europa League.

European football could be a massive windfall for either club, especially now with teams leaking money everywhere they look.

Burnley looked awful in its first game back, but then played well in a 1-0 win over Watford Thursday. Palace was exactly the opposite: the Eagles won easily out of the break, then got smoked by Liverpool.

The over under is set at two goals, which seems about right: this could be 1-0 either way if there is a winner, or maybe a 0-0/1-1 draw.

Tough to call this one, but I just think Palace, which had won four in a row via shutouts, has just enough to get the win.
