Bayern Munich hopes to keep cushion heading into Tuesday’s title clash

The last time Bayern Munich and Eintracht Frankfurt met, something extraordinary happened.

The seven-time reigning Bundesliga champions, who have dominated Frankfurt for the better part of their run, were battered 5-1 on November 2, 2019. The next day, manager Niko Kovac was sacked, and the club brought in Hansi Flick. Since then, the club has been on a tear, and you can make the case that Bayern Munich is the best team in the world right now.

Saturday afternoon, Bayern will get its chance to return the favor from November against a struggling Eintracht Frankfurt side, which sits in 13th place after a very good season in 2018-19.

Bayern Munich has owned Frankfurt going back to 2012, with 13 wins and just two losses in the last 17 head to head. One of those losses was obviously in November, but it changed the whole trajectory of this season.

Expect a pounding Saturday.
