This week in soccer: Action from Tajikistan Vysshaya Liga, The Belarus Cup, Nicaragua Liga Primera, Burundi Ligue A, and more
You don’t have to be Austin Millbarge and Emmett Fitz-Hume to be on the road to Dushanbe this week.
Although, with most of us bunkered up like General Sline under the drive-in theater, maybe this is a bad movie we are all in right now.
This week, the action gets underway in Tajikistan, with Dushanbe 83 hosting FC Istiklol, and FK Khujand visiting CSKA Pamir.
Wednesday sees action from three countries, and multiple competitions, in what has to be the busiest day of games in almost a month. Then Saturday, Burundi joins the fray, on a day where there are 19 matches across the globe.
With the announcement Tuesday that Major League Baseball may be ready to play sometime in May, can the return of other sports, including soccer, be far behind?
Hopefully, for the sake of everyone’s sanity, we will have a big party on Memorial Day weekend. Maybe not in the traditional sense with picnics and parades, but ones in our homes, with wall to wall sporting action and lots of barbeque food.
