Soccer Friday - Miller Picks Women’s World Cup, USA v France, Copa America, Venezuela v Argentina, Colombia v Chile; Lionel Messi

There are some star-studded names taking to the pitches Friday at the same time, as the quarterfinals roll on.

After England ran out to an easy 3-0 win Thursday, the Lionesses wait to see who their opponent in Tuesday's first Women's World Cup semifinal will be.

The United States will take on the host team France at the Parc de Princes, and this is the toughest match of the tournament to call. I have no feel for this game at all; prior to the tournament, I picked France to win the Cup, and I think the winner here is the clear favorite for the rest of the tournament. Both teams played averagely in the Round of 16, but found a way to sneak through.

At the Copa America, Brazil just about advanced Thursday night, after a 0-0 draw and a 4-3 win on penalties (without extra time, which was interesting.) Now the other South American powerhouses are in play, as Lionel Messi and Argentina look to take out Venezuela (the game is on at the same time as USA-France), and Colombia gets two-time defending champion Chile.

Look for Colombia and Argentina to move on to next week.
